🌿 U.S. Shipping Update – August 30, 2025
As many of you know, Moontime Apothecary ships across borders to herbal friends in the U.S. With recent changes to U.S. customs rules that took effect on August 29, 2025, all parcels entering the U.S. now require prepaid duties before leaving Canada.
What this means in practice:

The U.S. has ended the $800 “duty-free” threshold.

Duties are now being applied to every order, regardless of size.

In our first post-change test, duties alone came to over $30 CAD on a small package — before shipping costs.
For many of you, that would make Moontime remedies two to three times more expensive at checkout. That doesn’t feel fair or sustainable.
Our plan

U.S. orders are on pause while we set up a new, transparent solution.

We are working with Canada Post’s new Zonos integration to allow duties-prepaid (DDP) shipping. This way, any duties would be shown upfront at checkout — no surprises at the door, and no hidden costs for us to absorb.

Once this is in place, we’ll reopen U.S. shipping with clear communication around the new process.
For now

Canadian & UK orders are unaffected and shipping as usual.

U.S. Shipping Update
We’ve been closely following recent tariff and customs changes between Canada and the U.S. Here’s what it means for you:

Moontime orders are still shipping to the U.S. as usual.

Herbal teas and tinctures are not in the new high-tariff categories.

Most orders should continue to move smoothly under USMCA rules.

In some cases, a small duty or courier handling fee may appear after Aug 29.

When possible, we ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) so any duties are prepaid and there are no surprises at the door.
