Hey love,
I wanted to share an important update about shipping right now — especially if you’re waiting on an order or planning to place one soon.
As of September 25th, Canada Post has gone on strike, and unfortunately that means our usual flat-rate, duties-included shipping to the U.S. is temporarily paused. This service relies entirely on Canada Post, and right now their operations are halted until the strike is resolved.
💌 What This Means for Orders
-
Canadian orders are still shipping as usual.
-
🌍 International shipping outside of Canada and the U.S. is temporarily unavailable during the Canada Post strike.
-
U.S. orders are currently on hold until Canada Post resumes service. Your package is safe, packed, and waiting here to be shipped the moment things open back up.
🌎 Why We Can’t Simply Switch Carriers
The only alternative right now is through private couriers like DHL, and unfortunately those rates are extremely high.
To give you a sense: one small U.S. order that normally costs around $12 CAD to ship (including duties) is currently quoted at $36–$65 USD through courier. It just wouldn’t be fair to ask you to pay that — and covering it myself would mean losing money on every order.
🕰️ When Will Things Resume?
There’s no firm end date to the strike yet. I’ll be keeping a close eye on updates from Canada Post and will resume shipping immediately once service resumes.
💚 What You Can Do
If you’d like to explore a courier option despite the cost, you can email me at hello@moontimeapothecary.com and I can provide a quote for your package. Otherwise, your order will be shipped automatically once things are back to normal.
🌸 Thank You for Your Patience
I know how frustrating this is — trust me, I’m feeling it too after getting all of our shipping systems updated and running smoothly again. I’m so grateful for your understanding, patience, and continued support during this unexpected pause.
With love and gratitude,
